the military used to require manufacturers to stamp a number on the side of the tube which tells the true manufacturer regardless of what brand is stamped on the tube. If you want info on all the brand numbers it is included in Tube Lore by Sibley - do a Google search to get your own copy. Well worth the money IMHO.
