can't you just put the capicators back in? If I understand correctly, you only removed them to see if it'd improve the tone/sound. since it made things worse, not better, I'd go for just reinstalling them.I don't know, maybe I'm missing something here, but the obvious and easy solution is just to restore the amp to it's condition before the hum and clicking.
