Kind of hard to justify $1000 tubes, as I have only about $1000 invested in my DIY 300B MonoBlocks. ;-)That said, both the 90's and 05's are much better sounding, more natural in the mids and less mircophonic, than any of the Russian, Chinese, or KR 300B's I've tried.
Even at that, the 300B is far down on my list of great sounding DHT's. 45's are MUCH better sounding, but require about 6 dB increase in speaker sensitivity to compensate for their lack of power.
