Yeah, they discontinued their "GE copy" 6CA7 because Marshall users were literally blowing them apart at the seam welds; even with the incredibly crude/overkill welds, that GE plate material that was optimized for a staple-plate set-up (done properly staple plate is VERY strong; look at Telefunken, Siemens EL34s and GE 6550s!)just didn't hang tight. They took the GE copies off the market in late July to "focus on the Mullard clone." I LOVE their 12AX7 Mullard copy, it's a friggin' miracle of uniform, quiet, decent sonics.... but I have little love for the power tubes they have a hand in designing, like the E34LS (the plate wings make NO difference except to offer more potential for microphony; it's just a tarted up JJ e34L at 2&1/2 times the price and sounds no different; I've A/B'd the JJ and Groove to DEATH; same tube)Let's hope this one follows in the great footsteps of the Mullard 12AX7 clone!
