Hi everyone,I am a newbee tube amp owner. I own a couple lowly 3.5W and 10W per channel tube amps. However, they both take 220V AC input and I need to use an external 110V->220V AC converter to supply the power to the amps and it's very inconvenient. I want to know if it's easy to change the internal transformer so that it'll take the north american standard 110V. I have a 110V AC power supply unit which is supposed to be a replacement for the 220V unit in one of the amps. But I am not sure if it's just as easy as replacing the unit directly and re-connecting the wires, or if I need to modify other components too. How is it supposed to affect the performance and operation safety of the modified unit? I know these questions sound stupid but I'd be very grateful if any of you would offer some guidance.
