Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Hello everyone. My name is David and I am new to this Asylum. I am restoring a Brunswick Panatrope OX3 system. It consists of a Radiola 60 with its 80- power supply, a turntable and an RCA AP 952 amplifier. The amplifier uses the following tubes, 2-UX216-B’s, 1- UX210 and 1- UV876 ballast tube. It does not use the UX199 tube listed on the schematic. I have finished the radio and its power supply. I am now working on the AP952 amplifier. This amplifier also goes by the name of Tomcat. There are five very large metal box electrolytic capacitors that I need to replace. Two of them are 4MF and three are 2MF. With a lot of the early schematics only the part number or value is listed. I need to know the working voltage of these capacitors. Has anyone worked on these amplifiers before? The schematics are listed in Riders Volume 1 page 4. I have another AP952 amplifier which someone has bridged two of the 4MF capacitors with a 12MF/475 WV capacitor. Can I use this voltage value to replace all of the electrolyte’s? Any help will be appreciated, as I want to hear this system play again.David
