One kind soul has an EICO 628, and he suggested using Shunt 19, Fil 6.3, Sel. 3, toggles up 3, 4, 6 & 8, toggles down 5 & 7.Two reasonably beat 7591As measured weak after warm-up. The EICO 625 manual, which I have just obtained (unfortunately no 7591 settings), mentions also setting the Selector switch to "Line Adj." (to the right of 3) and then adjusting the Line Adjust. potentiometer until the meter needle reads within a division of "Line." I can do that, and then the tube to be tested reads stronger. Any ideas about this procedure or how to coordinate it with the Selector positioning on 3?
Is this procedure needed to calibrate properly the tester for the particular type of tube's requirements? Or does it throw everything off and give false strong readings (and maybe damage the tube?)
Thanks.
