The Raytheon versions (black-plate) are indeed great tubes. I like them in my Epiphone EA28RVT Pathfinder and also my Gibson GA19RVT Falcon amps. I was also lucky enough to get some Mullard 10M Master 6EU7's which, matched up with Brimar 6V6GT's or smoked glass RCA 6V5GT's, is an even better combination than the Raytheons. I replaced the 12" CTS speakers with Electro-Voice SRO-12's (with the coffee-can alnico magnets)and the sound is blues/classic rock heaven.
