I was in the same situation many months back and chose the Foreplay III route. If you take your time, read the directions prior to assembly, and GO SLOW you'll be fine and the guys on the bottlehead board are a great help. Search the archives on soldering tips and whatnot and go to radio shack and buy some wire and soldering tabs and practice before hand... It's intimidating when you open that package of parts but if you can follow directions, and go slow, you can do it. I learned a hell of a lot and have the confidence now to maybe build a Seduction phono-pre in the future. It sounds really great and if you take the time and stain the base and paint the aluminum chassis plate, it can look super nice as well...
