I probably should have said "guitar players" instead of the catch-all musicians. Primarially, because most guitar players are just trying to get a specific tone out of their amp and they're not really interested in how well it reproduces sounds outside the range of their guitar. Don't get me wrong, if it wasn't for guitar amps, there'd probably be no new production tubes at all - or certainly a lot less than what is available today.Now in pro recording gear, I think (correct me if I am wrong) Manley Labs uses NOS tubes in most of their products.
