IMHO. NOS has got a great rep. less because of relative quality and more because of the large variety available to accomadate taste & system synergy.
I.E. say there are 15 tubes for you to choose from, 2 are current manufacture and 13 are NOS. If all tubes are of equal quality, 13 of 15 people will find a NOS tube that they like better than either tube in current production.
