Matthew:On this one, I'm inclined to fault both seller and buyer, but with the majority weight on the seller. Yes, buyer should ask questions. Yes, buyer should know his tubes better to tell from the photo they weren't original Teles (but really, there are so many vagaries with tubes, weird versions, slight differences in internal construction, etc. -- not everybody can know all of that).
Yet, the seller had the tubes in his hand and either 1) knew they were relabels, but wrote a MISLEADING sale title and description, leaving out just enough info from being directly fraudulent or 2) has no clue himself about what he is selling. We can't know that answer unless the seller has a track record like Bugleman and should know the difference between real and relabel.
I just get the impression this particular seller is a bit sleazy. No matter, buyers must exercise caution and, as you point out, ask questions.
