Has anyone experience they could share about tube rolling in a Magnum Dynalab 108? Mine is three years old and is switched on for an average of about 4 - 5 hours a day. I have no reason to believe that the original Sovtek 12AX7 tubes are not good, but I intend to purchase a spare pair as a standby and to have available as a check on the condition of the original tubes.
Are there any particular 12AX7s (or variants) that you would recommend? I wouldn't mind trying something a bit 'special' if there is anything that stands out. For example, I have the opportunity to get hold of some Telefunken ECC83s, but at a fairly stiff price. My knowledge of tubes is pretty minimal.
I first posted this in the 'Tuners' forum, but someone suggested I might be better off posting in 'Tubes'. I've done a search which has not produced anything very helpful.
