Tks Jimmy, I just did it, placing the tube side way but the filament in vertical position.
My, the current is 67ma, and the plate to cathode is 316V, so the dissipation is 21W. But the tube is not really that hot.
This is higher then what this small amp is designed for, which is 220V for Hong Kong and China, while in Singapore the AC is 338V or so. The filament measure 2.68V...
The coupling caps inside are 1UF Solen, no wonder the sound is a bit hard. Adding 0.1UF WIMA film cap, and a 0.1uf Teflon cap at the B+ now the sound is much smoother. Still this amp sounded quite decent even before adding those caps.Best rgds
