How old are the GEC KT66's and how much use and abuse have they had over the years before you bought them? Can you hold onto those valves until the KT66hp's are as old and redo the test and give me the results at that stage as it will mean a lot more to me then. I believe old valves can still test very strong but lose the ability to reproduce the magic that a brand new one will so to test something that is 50 years old against a current production valve is not a true indication. The fact that the GEC KT66's are still performing "THAT WELL" speaks volumes for them. Will the current ones be receiving rave reviews in 2050, I don't think so but I hope so. When the newer ones are dearer than the originals for me then maybe I will give them a try.
