what mods have you done to your w5ms? I just put in shedlon stokes power supply board with 82@450v all nine of them and metal film resitors and low tolerance CC in the audio path..I also use PIO caps in the signal path where the .1s are as well as the 1uf..For the 1uf I use 2 .5uf in parallel for less induction.I left the original filter caps in for looks only. They should be disconnected as they are unreliable.Also the 5r4 tube socket should be changed.That was the number one issue I found why people were thinking power tranys were bad and they werent.There was leakage between the pins of the 5R4 socket and they would go to a lower voltage transformer and it wouldnt load up and buzz.This is the 13th w5m amp I fixed that was supposed to have a bad power trans which makes me wonder how many good w5m power tranies were tossed being assumed bad when they werent?
