Usually, trannies are tough; before discarding them, have you gone over everything else like:
- Cleaned the contacts?
- Measured plate & screen voltages with and without load (rectified AC, use DV Volts on your meter)?
- Replaced the rectifiers CR4 thru CR11 (1N4007's will do)?
