Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ

I'm not technically inclined, but...

there may be a mismatch between the Graham and the ASL Fox.

The Graham is spec'd as having 2mV to 9mV input capability with the output ranging from 240mV to 1.08V.

The 2.5V output of the Dynavector (close to the minimum input value of the Graham) would produce considerably less than 1V output (via the Graham) to the ASL Fox, as I understand it.

I assume the 1V ASL Fox input sensitivity spec is for full output.

According to KAB guidelines the cartridge/phono preamp should be a good match.

If no one chimes in here, run this through the Vinyl Forum.

My setup is borderline in that I use the second to the last notches (dual mono volume pots) of my line preamplifier with a small % of LP's (Ry Cooder/MFSL stuff mainly), but as using the higher notches does not degrade the sound it's really not a problem. This is what volume pots are for.
