The reason the mc60s need matched componets is because everything is fixed like the bias and ac balance.I did a frequncy sweep and distortion check at full power and its less than .25% distortion at 1khz and 20khz.Thats remarkable for a tube amp of this vintage or even a tube amp today.Of course we know its not like solid state amp distortion which is nauseating.Any distortion in a mc60 or mc75 seems to be more noticable than other tube amps.What you also can do is if you dont have a signal generator is get a CD that generates steady test tones and measure the AC voltages going in and out of the driver amp and voltage amps both sides of each tubes right up to the outputs.You need both sections of each driver tube to be pretty well matched on both sides of each tube.
