Yes, Appleply. This is the third set of "cabinets" that I have had built out of it. Yes, it's about three times more expensive than standard plywood, but its low void count and attractive maple finish make it worth the expense.That's cool that you acquired some Klangfilms and will try them along with the Fertins. One of the beauties of the OBs is that it's really easy to experiment with different drivers (woofs as well as tweets). Even with my less common 10" driver size, I can try drivers from Goodmans, Hartley, Jensen, JBL, Philips, Wharfedale, Stentorian and the famous Siemens Coaxial (just to name a few). And those are just the vintage choices!
I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find a cabinet maker who can work with metric measurements. Just make sure that they are a really good woodworker. I lucked out and found a really good one locally. He mostly makes elaborate custom cabinets and my speaker projects are a novelty for him. He is from Turkey and just seems to have that combination of European work ethic and old-world craftsmanship.
