The GE might seem to have more bass than the TS but it is less defined. The TS bass has punch and defenition. If you think the GE is rolled off in the highs the SED isn't what you want. I think the GE is right between the TS and sed in tonal ballance. If your new to tube amps keep listening. As the tubes and your ears break in you will see the strengths of tubes. There is some comprimise as there are no tone controls. If you still can't get it to sound just right mods are the only way to fix the problem. I suspect there are other areas in your system that can be upgraded other than the 6550 tubes. Try different pre amp tubes etc.
