If "yes" and "yes", I'd do something like John Marks suggested - kitchen sponges, or, foam rubber of some sort (sometimes used for packaging or under sleeping bags). Either way, pack it in fairly tightly so there's a good intimate contact with the stand. If too loose, it'll be a waste of time and money.

To answer your question about spray foam, it dries hard and so doesn't have any vibration damping property "to speak of". I suppose it might work well enough to satisfy your need, but really what you want is a material which is structurally flexible so that it can internally dissipate the vibration.
