My wife was ok with the Martin Logan Ascents but never got ok with the SVS cylinder. Even I was a bit taken aback by the size. It now resides at my daughter's house, supplementing my old JBL 4313's.

I agree with you, if the amp and speaker were updated the OP should be in great shape, at a much lower cost than new.
