It is not just easy but very easy. I am going to post a build here on this forum soon from start to finish. I will get as in depth as possible. Starting with drivers Thiel/small parameters and how they affect a driver's performance. Quick example A drivers Bl factor this is a parameter that can tell you how dynamic a speaker will sound. Say you have two 12" woofers they are identical in every way except the weight of the diaphragm/cone so say both speakers have the same strength in the magnetic gap 1.4 tesla, but one speaker has a 95-gram cone and the other a 50-gram cone the lighter cone will be driven hard by the same strength magnet making the bass tight and articulate with good dynamics. The heavier cone will not be driven as hard making it less articulate with less dynamics. Think of it as a power to weight ratio in a car a 400 HP engine will move a 4000-pound car easily but that same 400 HP engine in a 2000-pound car will move it even quicker and faster and more efficiently.
Once we know all the Theil/small parameters we will have a good idea of how a speaker performs and how it will perform in different cabinet types. Then we will get into how to choose the right drivers for a particular type of build. This is all every basic specs that are easy to learn. Then we can move on to how to measure drivers to obtain FRD frequency response files and ZMA impedance response files. These files are just text files that will contain three columns of numbers. FRD files contain Frequency, Amplitude in dB, phase through the frequency range. The ZMA files show you the driver's impedance through the frequency range.
Once we get this far it starts to get fun, we get to upload these files into simulation software and then we can model a crossover 100% accurately once we know the value of the components, we can build the crossover and then measure the speaker system and verifies the results.
Trust me it's easy if you have a passion for learning that makes it even easier.
When you see a thread called asylum speaker build that will be me check it out and start building.
