Totem designs their own woofers. They design them to roll off smoothly without high frequency ringing common in almost all speakers, so the woofers don't need a low pass crossover. They also seem to maintain special control of the Q of their woofers. I recall a bass reflex Totem with a Bessel function(minimum time delay) Qts. Only ONE driver Q can do this in a bass reflex speaker(no matter how the box and port is varied) and they claimed to do it.
