I've mentioned before that I used to work in a packaging Lab. I've seen all kinds of damage and had to document it for the bosses.

The best way to protect things against poor handling is to at least box the contents inside another well protected box. If it's really valuable then 3 boxes.

Sorry to inform anybody on how to do this, but why take chances. Insurance won't "insure" anything either, only pay for possible damages. Good luck with that one.

I also had a Forklift license, damage from that will be, of course, the worst. Forklifts weight 4,000 to 5,000 pounds and they don't stop on a dime. Instant destruction.

Writing on the package? Ignored because things go by fast enough to make heads spin around 8 hours a day. An operator on any device including conveyor belts don't READ PACKAGES as they go by.

Box contents properly in the first place, insure it JIC and then fight it out with the shipper
