I would not bother with CLD in the sense of, say, fusing two 3/8ths inch Valchro boards together with Saint-Gobain Green Glue.
GR Research's product to line the inside of enclosures has a CLD aspect.
My guess is that Zinnser's Spray Shellac would give it a nice matte finish.
