I've recently blogged (see link below) about the BAT VK-300x SE. 15x12x8 is even smaller than my parents' room, and I would not overlook minimonitors. In fact, minimonitors most likely will be your best bet. For starters, I'd check out the ProAc Response One SC, Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor, and Totem Model 1 Signature.

If you had a medium-sized room, the Totem Forest would fit the bill. But in a 15x12x8 room, the Forest will overload it with too much bass.
