Wood-grain contact paper and some 70s shag in bitter orange or avocado would complete the look.I expect the iron-on veneers employing heat would work, or you can make your own using the iron-on contact stuff sold at craft stores. You could use cloth as a cover too, with the iron-on sticky stuff.
