Don't some speakers shield via having "Mu metal" (a nickel based
alloy that has a very high magnetic permeability) an a liner
in the box? The magnetic field would tend to flow from the
woofer magnet out to the mu shield, then it would prefer
to flow in the shield instead of radiating out of the
box and into the room. The metal's pretty expensive
but doing it that way rather than the bucking magnet
doesn't lose efficiency.Mark
