I dissolved dammar crystals from an art supply store in pure gum turpentine. Takes about a day in the sun, or you can buy dammar lacquer in the store (but best to avoid petro based products in the lacquer.

Photo of my dac made of African Mahogany with Dammar lacquer. You just rub it on with a clean rag.
