Alnico is rarely used in modern speakers due to it's expense today; it was common in decades past. So if you desire Alnico magnet woofers, look at older Vintage speakers. Be aware that few decades-old speakers will sound alright without 1st performing some basic maintenance or restoration work (such as replacing aged-out electro-chemical capacitors, cleaning or replacing adjustable mid or high level controls, replacing enclosure seals, possibly replacing deteriorated foam cone surounds). Just like your Fisher tube amp, old speakers need work to sound new again. We have & regularly listen to 1960's vintage Electro-voice & Altec Alnico magnet speakers. Perform an asylum archive search for alnico to learn more.
