I have about the same room dimensions and have used the Vandersteen 2ce in the past and am currently using Merlin TSM--MMe. The Vandersteens were great and it didn't bother me at the time, but as I look back I think they were a little big for the room. It depends on the sound you're looking for. I'm currently using the Merlins with a Pathos Classic One (Linn LP12 and Rega Apollo as sources), and I much prefer the sound. I can turn up the volume without overfilling the room and losing the details of the music, if that makes sense. The Merlins are warm, open and throw a good-sized soundstage. I have a small 8" velodyne subwoofer that I'm also using to get a little more umph on the bass. As everyone here suggests, I would call Bobby at Merlin Music. He can tell you how your equipment would match up and about your room concerns. Good luck.
Tom
