Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I have same dimensions Here's What I have done...

I have played around quite a bit with speaker placement with the same room size. I used the Thiel speaker placement instructions found on their web site. I have Thiel 2.4s in that room size. I placed them on odd-numbered dimensional points and so that the placement distances from front wall versus side walls were not multiples of each other. This still leaves me at a listening position against the rear wall. I have compensated some with bass traps in the front wall corners and and diffusion points along the rear wall and side walls from furniture, book cases. The sound is decent at low to medium levels. Speaker placement is as follows: 37" from side walls measured to the center of the woofers. and 57" from the front wall measured the same way. I have to say that the bass traps made a difference.

Hope this helps.
