Tom,First, let me say that I am female (I realize that monikers can be misleading). Next let me state: I am not you, have been married for 27 years, but would not settle for anyone who demanded these things. My husband has (for the most part) supported my hobby. Yet, I have had to slide a few things into the household under the radar.
There are beautiful, feminine, intelligent, music-loving women out there who can learn to understand gear. In 1977, John Fort (who I was dating at the time) and Albert Porter (the sales manager at Arnold and Morgan in Dallas) introduced me to this crazy hobby. Through education and synergistic gear, they helped me understand that the equipment can truly elevate the music. I have been hooked ever since.
I would rather purchase 2-channel audio gear than clothes, furniture or the latest trends in perfume/makeup. I am also a car enthusiaste. Yet, most men have never be able to decipher my hobbies based on first impressions. Be patient...there are more of us out there.
