I think they are Avante II which is one of the first speakers Paul Barton produced with the NRC in Ottawa. They came out in about 1976. I still have mine. They have Philips drivers in them. The woofer is a Hexagonal shape, or Octogonal shape, and the dome tweeter was the same as used in their motional feedback speaker. They competed with the Dyna A25, Advent etc. The crossover is at 3000 hz and they still sound good today. If you go to the PSB site you will see that there is a reference to them there. Paul Barton probably made them himself. At that time they were located in St. Jacobs Ontario, just outside Kitchener Waterloo. They did come in a real wood veneer finish for $40 Cdn. more.David
