After numerous posts asking for opinions, I settled on trading my Thiel 2.4s for vandy Quattros. Heard them this week for an extended listen. Auditioned in store wth a mirror image of my home set up. Obvious room acoustics were different. Really like these speakers. They are revealing. Some here will say. You are just trading one time aligned, phase coherent speaker for another. Not so. While I will still have the low level detail, but I will gain a massive soundstage that goes way beyond the speakers' edges and focused pinpoint imaging. They are a bit more accessible than the Thiels in terms of drawing you into the music. Most importantly, I will gain the ability to tune the speakers to my room with built in subs that can be equalized in the room to achieve a near flat response at my listening position. It will be a more complicated setup, with high pass filters and power cords.I want to thank everyone for their advice. Now I have to wait six weeks to get them. Will report back when I've had them broken in.
