Well, the idea was total isolation of vibration and proper timing at the listening position (despite not being phase coherent). Does it work? I suppose, but it has other problems. For instance, lots of diffraction/reflection off all those angular surfaces. Drivers far more separated than they need to be or should be. It's the kind of design that happens when you prioritize one or two aspects over all the others.
