Yes they are

We listened to the 101E's at the HES on several visits to that room. I found the MBL's to be in a league of their own and priced accordingly with their connected MBL components.

One thing that did come to mind while listening and I certainly invite any comments on, is that the 101E's gave me the impression that room construction and contents may become critically important when allowing these speakers to do what they impressed me as doing best, and that's bringing a rock concert or full symphony to just a few feet in front of you.

I know my sub-floored, sheet-rocked box of a listening room would be sadly lacking without extensive work to do justice to what I heard in that carefully prepaired room.
