The question is about styles of music, not can speakers magically make every crappy recording sound the same as the great ones. Having said that, I have yet to hear a system that could do all kinds of music equally well. Jazz, classical, folk etc., yes. But, when you throw heavily produced rock music into the mix, it's a different story. Usually the rock is better, or all the other stuff is better.Splitting the hairs finer, depending on where the meat of a particular piece's pitch range is centered will favor some speakers over others because of crossover points and so on, but that's a different can of worms. Tweeter level controls can only do so much in this department, anyway. EVERY system represents some kind of compromise.
