Re: 'Warm' speaker recommendations?

I agree with Richard BassNut Greene about the difficulties trying to make ANY speaker sound good in such a room. If you'd like to try a little larger rectangle of fibrous material (than Richard's tissue idea), would you and the wife consider a large rug to go in between your speakers and your couch/chair/listening post?

I own Spendor SP1/2's, and I had a similar room which was UNTAMED until we bought an 8' X 10' rug for the space. Smaller rugs didn't cut it -- the rug had to leave virtually no wood floor between me and the speakers.

Of course, the tissue will be much cheaper, but I've never heard that treatment so I can't speak too intellignently about the differences between these plans!

PS: And then, of course, you've got the possibilities of other wall and corner treatments to further "warm up" the sound...
