First time builder? Start with a two way. Get a book to teach you something about loudspeaker design. Vance Dickason's "Loudspeaker Design Cookbook" or David Weem's "Loudspeaker Design" would be good places to start. I'd gather from your post you're not ready for a 3-1/2way design.
