Well, I purchased the 3.1, and I had my speakers in my listening room less than two weeks after I deposited the check with my dealer. When I placed the order, the dealer contacted Gallo, and they informed him that they had plenty of stock available - no back orderd. Maybe the problem was with the dealer.Whether the Gallo is the "best" in it's price catagory, as John Ashman discusses, who knows. What is the best? I suspect that if I walked into you, or another dealer's store, who sold competing products at the same price point, and I asked "what is the best at 'X' price point," you would not give me a straight answer, afraid of offending one speaker or the other. So when you say that the Gallo is not the best at that price point, I am hardly persuaded.
I listened to almost ten pairs of speakers in the Gallo's price point, and while there were speakers that did specific things better, I could not find one that did everything as well. But I would hope that prospective purchasers would listen for themselves.
