Quad 21-22L's vs. B&W 705 vs. Monitor Audio Silver RS6??

I recieved a call from my nephew asking for advise on selecting his first sound system. He doesn't have all that much money so forget the costly systems. He is considering the Quad 21 or 22 L's or the B&W 705's I noticed that Stereophile gave the Monitor Audio Silver RS6's a high rating. I haven't heard any of them so I can't advise him, but, being an old Quad ESL 57 owners, I may be biased toward Quads. His budget is between $1000 and $1500 and must be speakers that local dealers have. He lives in a small apartment and I assume he will be using the speakers as part of his home video system. I read that the Quads where not magnetically sheilded, if this is true then they may not be suitable for his TV.
I was advising him to get an integrated amp. again between $1000 and $1500. He was looking at the Rega Mira 3 for about $1000 but then I noticed that Stereophile gave the Creek 5350SE a much higher rating and am wondering if that would be a better match for the Quads. Again, not listening to either, I can't advise him. Am seeking your thoughts.
