Well, your Dick Dale link finally popped up and while I respect his technique, he's no more talented or innovative than the remarkable Mr. Schenker; he just has more years under his belt and performs in a different musical style.
As for the choices you've made, it sounds more like a reflection of your attitude than objectivity. Heck, I could give a flip how you regard the guitar in the overall scheme of things or how critical you are of Michael Schenker's awesome technique. In fact, it's readily apprarent that we define talent differently, but taking personalities out of the equation, guitar solos was the criteria for this poll and that is the topic being discussed regardless of the subjective choices either of us would make.
