Yes, I looked at that and found our tastes fairly similar with the
exception of my extensive and exhaustive knowledge of reggae and
ethnic musics. No Hawkwind among his favorites, but there was the
Bubble Puppy, one of my favorite seminal Austin bands, along with
The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, the Conqueroo, and Shivas Head Band.
The Bubble Puppy's drummer, David Fore, was extraordinary. Gong is on
his list too: I find most of their stuff too precious (pot head
pixies and all), but they put out one of my favorite live albums,
"Planet Gong, Live Floating Anarchy, 1977." I have always suspected
the presence of Hawkwind's FX guys, Del Dettmar and Dik Mik at that
performance. The "Aleez Ali Baba Black Sheep Have You Any Bull Shit"
at the end of side two never fails to stimulate my victims. Anyway,
