Without checking, I think Kraftwerk records have overall pretty good sonics.
My thought was that Kraftwerk showed a different path than the guitar/blues based "rock" and towards a keyboard/? rooted music.
I toured with Kraftwerk in mmm 81 I think it was, and I seem to remember very good sound quality, but also their very friendly open approach, inviting our tour manager to play with them during soundchecks. Always loved the confusion between the robots and the "real" players!
We could discuss the role of Neu and maybe then Dusseldorf in this. Have any of the Dusseldorf albums ever been rereleased or are they still arguing?
