Last night at the Barbican, London. Saw Eric Bibb for the first time after buying almost all his albums. Finally saw that he plays amazing guitar. Never believed all the gutar parts on his album were played at the same time. Joined by Martin Simpson for a couple of numbers with Danny Thompson playing bass and Larry Crocket on Drums.Eric's new album Diamond Days is superb but also check out Twelve gates to the City available via his website for solo acoustic 'faithy' numbers. Truly amazing. He plays a Kontra Bas (sic) on Show me the way and it's incredibly beautiful.
Lucinda Williams in two weeks, Cassandra Wilson after that with Pat barber at Ronnie Scotts and Shawn Colvin at my local. I'm in Heaven!
cheers
ps Why all the fuss over Keb Mo when Eric Bibb is the real deal.?
