To see T-Bone and Elvis and have Emmy-lou come out and sit with them, just blew the crowd away. Before that, we were treated to this
Kevin Welch & Kieran Kane & Fats Kaplin Primo songwriting and ace playing, acoustic treat.
Iris Dement, wow, she was fantastic yet again.
Alejandro Escovedo, his band came on like gang busters and had the place jumping.
Then, after Elvis and the T-Bone....Richard Thompson with his 16 string guitar * and his 24 fingers*, just a stunning following act.
* just kidding
Overhead an F-18 did a vertical climb and slowly rolled 180 degrees and headed straight down then when all hope was gone he pulled it out and hit the afterburner. T-Bone was no amused, the same exact thing happened on Saturday on a different stage.
The crowd was massive, maybe 200 to 250 thousand on Sunday. A warm sunny day at Speedway Meadows where the bands of the 60's played exactly 40 years ago....It has to be the premiere musical event in the country, if not the world.
