Yeah, I always thought that Kansas was more interesting than they were given credit for...which may or may not equate to underrated.I used to love Dire Straits first two albums....when "Brothers in Arms" came out, I suddenly loathed that band. I turned on them because they turned on me. "Down by the Waterline", "Lady Writer", "Once Upon a Time in the West" suddenly became some plastic sounding duet with Gordon Sumner about MTV...Bleecccchhhh. Hell, although I still love Mark Knopfler, I'm miffed to this day at what happened to the original sound of Dire Straits. I'm sure there's a subset here of bands that were loved and then hated ( or hated then loved ).
